  • PROBLEM – cannot change source folder on Scene detected footage

Posted by Justin Lovell on June 14, 2014 at 2:05 am

I am working off a USB drive that is too slow. I copied the files onto my internal RAID but before I realized it was too slow, I had done a scene detect on the DPX sequence and built my timeline. Now I want to unplug my USB drive and reconnect to the files on my RAID.

I have a sequence in DPX.
    I scene detected the sequence.
    Created timeline
-copied files from USB drive to internal RAID
    removed USB drive.
    Restarted
Selected clips in media pool Changed the source of the file to the new destination.
    Clips remain black.

Is this because it is looking for the ‘scene detected’ clips file names rather than the source clip?

    Thanks for your help!!

You saved your scene detection, right ?
Or made an EDL from it ?
If you just load the detected scenes in, there is a sort of problems…like this one.
Always do it the other way and make an EDL, you are just dealing with one file and can easily make transitions and stuff.
    Render Cache still is global.

    A slice of color…
