Working on a job that is XDCAM 1080i. Runtime of the show now is 36 min and made up mostly of 4 long takes. Since R10 was crashing a lot I have transcoded the longer takes to ProRes. These files are named the same and I have taken the original XDCAM files out of the original media folder. If I look in the media pool R10 still thinks its an XDCAM file, however if I reveal in finder it points to the new ProRes file.

Using noise reduction and was getting crashing with a GTX285. Thought it was a RAM issue with the graphics card so picked up a GTX 680 4Gb flashed card and put that in the machine over the weekend. R10 is working a little better, however I am still getting crashing when navigating from shot to shot. R10 just goes away, no “you just crashed” screen. Crashing happens in ML and 10.9

Really need to get this job in FedEx tomorrow. Not sure of next steps. Could it be the NR?

Going to transcode all media to ProRes and give that a shot.

    OSX 10.8.5 and 10.9 MacPro 4,1 14gb RAM dual quad core 2.26, GT120, GTX 680 4gb

    Cuda Driver version 5.5.47

Transcoded all files to pro res and that worked for a bit then just had another crash. I have never experienced Resolve being this unstable ever. Running Full Version btw

is it the spinning wheel of death or just quitting with no error code?

going to see if I can sort that out now. Had rolled back to 10.1.2 and it was all good. worked for a few good hours then the same thing. one frame forward then one frame back to check the previous shot and bang. gone.

Eric – What are best practices to roll back the nVidia driver? Thanks!

Do a search for cuda mac driver and google will direct… Download the driver from nVidia and install over current version. Restart wouldn’t hurt, but is not required.

too fast jumping from clip to clip can cause this. i am on ml and 5.28 and sometimes it happens as
well to me. i guess it happens to everyone from time to time, doesn’t it?
