I have been trying to do a rough cut in Resolve then export an XML for use in FCP X but encounter a problem. The editing goes smooth, able to render out files no problem but the XML is not something that Final Cut Pro X wants any part of.

    Here is the workflow:

    Import media into media pool
    Create new timeline and edit
Go to deliver page and export out an XML

I have tried both the roundtrip option and the other one that has FCP listed in there. It could be something simple that I am not considering but have no ideas on how to solve this issue. I tried changing the XML to FCPXML and import it that way. I get a text image and have to force quit out of FCP X because it refuses to work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Out of curiosity, why would you want to do it backwards? Just to make your life harder? FCP is the editor. Cut in FCP and export to Resolve for finishing. 😉

Mainly the magnetic timeline. I do prefer tracks and just feel more efficient with tracks. 🙂

Ok, but then why rough cut in Resolve? Why not just do it all in FCP? FCP is the editor.
