    Hi,

Im about to grade a B/W underwear commercial, shot on a grey background on old russian Baltar optics. Red Epic.
Do you guys have any good advices about grading this kind of black and white footage?

    Any common looks?

    Hi,

I know how to use the RGB mixer and I will apply a LUT for deeper blacks.
Is there any way to get the grey look more like silver?

What makes up silver is the way it reflects.

I bet you will not get that in grading that simply.

Don’t use a LUT, work with curves. The trick to getting a “silvery look” is also in using curves. You’ll have much finer control over where to apply different contrast gradients, which is essential to bringing out detail.
