  Reconform a project from RED trims back to camera originals

  Hi

  I have a feature that had been graded here using trimmed RED files (from within Resolve) and now I’m unexpectedly having to come back to the film after the trims were deleted and I can’t get the projects to connect to the camera originals the Director has brought in on a drive.

  The project won’t connect to them if I add them all to the project, if I add them to a new bin and Reconform from Bins, if change source folder of the missing clips to the full r3d files folders..

  Anyone have another idea ?

  Well the short answer here is you can’t.

  I’ve tried retrimming all the RED files but that doesn’t work either.
  And in the RED trim process as laid out in the manual as far as I can see this option doesn’t exist:

  “Now, right-click the conformed timeline in the Timelines list, choose Import > Additional Clips With Tight Filename Match, and then choose the directory to which you copied the trimmed R3D media in step 5.”

  I’ve been reconforming this film for 2 days straight now and still nowhere. Don’t really feel Resolve is fit for purpose right now
