OK, another basic question (sorry, again, googled and RTFM’d and didn’t see an answer):

I turned on caching and played back my timeline so that now the clips display “100% cached,” but I can’t figure out how to get resolve to actually play back *from the cache* instead of just re-rendering when I play back. When I hit play, the cache % drops back to 0, the GPU bar goes up, and the disk starts writing again.

    Thanks again!

hmm, not sure. mine just works.

the cache is DPX files. so if you’re in HD, you’ll need 250-300MB/s available. a single internal drive won’t be able to do this. my system has a 4 drive internal RAID-0 for the cache.

    I’m caching to a 450 MB/s SSD

if that SSD is just a single drive in a slot in the Mac Pro, it won’t go that fast. did you try Blackmagic Disk Speed Test on it to see? i just tested a single Mercury Pro Extreme 6G in mine and i’m getting 130MB/s write and 250MB/s read
