  Issues with mpeg4 codec

  Trying to conform an XDCAM show. Footage is all mpeg4 codec and .mp4 extensions. I can add clips into media pool, but they play down as black and they don’t have timecode. All source footage has the original directory structure and each clip has all of the sidecar files in its directory. Worked with xdcam footage in the past, but usually was given mxf files and rewrapped them. Need to get timecode and picture playback working. Thoughts?

  not sure, but it sounds like you need the XDCam EX codec from Sony…
