    Am I missing something here?

In v8 it appended the unique Resolve identification to the suffix, for example with a RED file I would get “A001_C001_1214O_V1-0001”

In v9 Resolve is placing the unique name as a prefix ahead of the source file name, so I get, “V1-0001_A001_C001_1214O.”

Attaching as a suffix instead of a prefix is much more preferable for so many reasons. In v9 is there not an option for this? I’m wonderring even if there is why did BM change it so it defaults to a prefix? Definitely a backwards step feature.

    Cheers, Chris

If you need to do things like this on osx, I recommend the name mangler app. You can just set it up as a preset and change the names all at once.

One reason I can imagine that you’d actually want it as a prefix, is if you needed to rebuild the timeline manually for whatever reason…
