  • Transcoding DPX to DNxHD in Resolve

I’m starting a feature this week and they will be shooting on the Sony F3 directly to DPX 4:4:4.
I need to transcode those DPX files to offline edits files (DNxHD 36) while preserving timecode and the ability to reconform down the road. What is the best way to do this?

I’ve found that Resolve is probably the best application to do this task, but batching in it is tricky and requires me to connect the audio to each clip before rendering. ???

I want to ensure that I am bringing the audio wav with the transcode into AVID for syncing purposes.
And I’m also not sure that resolve is keeping my in camera timecode. Is there a way to burn in metadata to the transcodes in Resolve.

And what is the deal with Resolves naming convention. Will I be able to conform at the end without renaming any files?

    Thanks for any help,
    Taylor
