Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I am not able to add a matte into the node graph. When I right-click on any node the option to add a matte is not there.

I can add a clip into the media pool as a matte, however. Is there something I am missing or could this be a bug. I have tried uninstalling the software and then follow up with a re-install and still get the same issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    System details:
    Mac Pro Quad Core
    OS 10.8.2 — Mountain Lion
    6 GB Memory
    ATI Radeon 5770 graphics card

With exception of SD card reader, no other external devices are attached.

    1. Add a matte to the media pool makes it available only in track mode .
    2. Add a matte to a clip enables it for that clip only.

[David Mathis] “I can add a clip into the media pool as a matte,”

As Sascha correctly observes, you only add a matte for a particular clip. You aren’t really bringing it into the Media Pool so much as you are selecting a clip already in the pool and “attaching” the matte to that clip. And the rules about offsets and clip length have changed in version 9.
