Effect controls window not showing my effects
Hi, I’m using some text animation presets on text in After Effects CC. The effect works and I have the effect controls panel open but when I highlight the text layer there aren’t any effects showing in the effect controls panel. I’m working on a mac. Please help!

If it is one of the built-in animation options from within the Text layer itself (From under the “Add” menu of the Text layer) it won’t show up in the Effects panel. Only actual Effects do. Twirl open the text options on the layer itself.

For anyone with a similar situation, but not the Built-in effects, make sure your effects tab isn’t “locked” to a layer that has no effects added. There is a little lock at the top of the effects tab, that should look unlocked.

ok, I am using an effect that I installed, not one of the out-of-the-box ones that came pre-installed. The little lock in the effect control panel still not showing anything this. I have the same problem with essential graphics. all the tutorials show content in that panel, but mine are empty, nothing opens or displays…
