  Text transitions to birds flying

  I need to make as the title suggests some text to transition into flying birds. Could someone give some useful advice.
  I used shatter in combination with the particle system but it is too much like explosion. I guess I will probably have to do it by hand but if there is some shortcut I would appreciate some direction…Thank you.

  I would look to Trapcode Form

  Maybe one of these Tutorials, could give you a starting point.

  Thank you John for quick reply. I will sure look into the tutorials you sent me link to. Thanks.
  As for the transition I did it by hand for each letter – just some basic shape transitions (I was in a hurry so no time for experimentation :)). Thanks again.
