  • Imitating Typewriter effect from AE in Adobe Edge Animation -SOLVED-

Posted by Katri Koivula on November 18, 2015 at 8:28 am

    Hi!

I didn’t find an Adobe Edge Animate related subforum, so I thought posting here because my problem is somehow related to After Effects as well.

I would like to make a simple animation in Edge Animate, where the text appears on screen just like it does when using the Typewriter effect in After Effects. I have searched high and low but I can’t find any way to do it in Edge. Would somebody here have a solution how to mimic the Typewriter effect?

    Thank you in advance!

    Best regards,

    Katri

Apparently there’s no easy way, as in AE. You have to import each letter individually on a separate layer, and then change each individual display attribute along the timeline as you want it to appear.

    I found this info at:

    Hi Joseph,

thank you for your message and for the link!

My friend actually found out a way to do this in Edge Animate. By editing the clip (the size of the box where text is) you can achieve this effect easily. Just make the box widen as fast as you want the imaginary person to write and the text will appear on the screen as wanted. The clip-section can be found in the down left corner of the screen.

    All the best! 🙂

    Regards,

    Katri

I’m glad you found a better way. The method I found seemed quite time consuming.
