interlaced footage from avid through resolve to progressive, any good?
I have just bought resolve so a bit of a newbie.
As a test project I have one of those freebie projects that just wont die shot on HDV, bane of my life hdv!
Anyway. I have eventually finished the project in avid mc 5.03 having created a 1080P (1920) format project and making all the clips progressive from interlaced with effectively a timewarp via the built in any frame rate in avid on a 1080P timeline.
Unfortunately it appears that resolve doesn’t see these time remaps and all the footage appears to be interlaced on resolve timeline via an aff export.
I know one way round would be to mixdown all the clips in avid but I just can’t bare that.
Will Resolve handle the interlaced files well and allow me to export a proper progressive render or should I try and make sure the footage going into resolve is progressive to begin with.
It might be worth mentioning that I need to do some resizing with zoom to get rid of some matte box vignettes.
Basically whats resolve like with interlaced?
thanks
Simon
