  save individual node

  Another noob question….

  I can’t find an easy way to save an individual node as opposed to a node tree. The only way I can see to do it is to first get rid of all other nodes, then apply the single node and grade to a clip, save that, then go back and put the node tree back together ( which can be done by saving the tree firstly, then appending the individually saved node)…..

  There might be a way to do this with ‘versions’ too, but I haven’t fully gotten my head around how that works yet….

  Any suggestions greatly appreciated….

  If you right click on any VSR or any still in the Gallery or Powergrade display, and select “Display Node Tree” you can drag any individual node to the currently selected shot’s node tree and place it anywhere in the tree by dropping it on any connector. I don’t know if this accomplishes what you’re trying to do, though.

  Hi Mike,

  This will help sometimes but I often have some preset effects such as vignettes that I will want to save and then add and tweak and the best thing will be to have quick access to just that one node to add to a node tree – I can see ways to do this…..just trying to make sure I am not missing out on an easier way than I have figured out from scratch….

  Well, in that case, get rid of any other nodes in the node tree, and save the remaining tree (i.e., your one node) as a Powergrade. You can then call it up any time using the same method I described previously. Or you can select it and use “append to node tree”.
