  • Export Vectors From AE (aka AE to Illustrator)

I’ve seen this asked before but can’t find definitive answers.

Is there any way to export vectors created in after effects to Illustrator without copying/pasting?

We have animated vector assets created in After Effects that we want to bring into Illustrator for use in print. Is there any way to get these vector files out of After Effects and into Illustrator? A plugin that will export one frame as an SVG file? Anything?

I know After Effects works in pixels, but before it rasterizes, it has the ability to handle vectors, so there HAS to be a way to get that information out of after effects.

Is there really nobody else who needs this feature?

I know you asked for vectors, but there is always the option of making (a duplicate of the) original file high enough resolution so that it suitable for print and rendering a still as Photoshop or some other print-oriented file format.

[Rob Frese] “A plugin that will export one frame as an SVG file?”

    There’s this:

I agree the SVG output would be really useful. Have you filed your feature request [link]?
