    I am considering a Panasonic TH-42BT300.

What do I need to connect it to my DeckLink Extreme ? Can I use the HDMI on both or do I need a HD-SDI Terminal Board as an option on my Panasonic.

And what is the easiest way to calibrate this ?

some say HDMI is capable for your 10bit output, with 4:4:4, but nobody seemed so sure, so I went with the terminal board.
As for the HD-SDI boards, if you need 4:4:4, or 2K output, you’ll need the TY-FB11DHD, otherwise the TY-FB9HD is enough for 1080p, 4:2:2.

One more note – I have the PF30 series -, I saw some auto-gamma, or auto-brightness through the hdmi port. Now I use it with the HD-SDI board, and I can rarely see it, and it’s much more subtle.

Maybe the best way to test it, – you’ll have to buy the BM Extreme wither way -, is to buy and hdmi cable, and try it. If it doesn’t work you’ll still have the option to drop a few thousand on the input board:)

Sdi seems more standardized i.e. More controllable and precise.

If money is not the issue i’d go with sdi.

Maybe not the best example but when you export stuff from resolve lets say to som hi comp format
Then you can see the vividness drop. Same thing with 422 vs 444 sdi i bet.
I personaly would go for 444 sdi.

Not maybe so noticable but there is difference.

I think the 42″ is around $4k and the 50″ around $5k and that is probably without the SDI module.

I have a 50″ version TH-50BT300. No HD-SDI cards jet only using it via HDMI. In the full scale data preview mode I can’t see all the black and white patches on calibration images. I am using LightSpace CMS anr i1 pro to calibrate, but so far there are coming strage resaults out of claibrations. But I think there is a problem DeckLinks HDMI output, not plasma. How do other use plasma via HDMI on Resolve in full data range or scale video only? Would using LUT box (HDLink or Davio) made any difference converting HDSDI in HDMI.
I am also feeding HDSDI in CRT and LCD displays there is all info in both ranges, scaled legal video and full data.

Pretty much display works and feels very nice. It is great display. 3D is stunning! But nothing calibrated and fully tested jet. I am looking for some help connecting/setting the Plasma and DaVinci. I need full data range for finishing in DCP.
    Cheers!
