I was looking at at some cine files a few days ago and found that at 21 sec and 14 frames on 24 frames a sec time line the files show a solid black image and on long clips it starts freaking out and flashing different colors and the image moves all over the place. I have not looked at the longer ones to see if it is a specific frame that it starts freaking out on like the solid black is a specific frame. I have only tested a few files to get the frame count of 21:14 but all of them that I flipped through did the same thing on 2 computers and with files from an HD Gold and a Flex.

Also, is there a way to send bug reports directly to the devs or is this the way to do it?

Hi michael, you can go to c:Program FilesBlackmagic Design, double click the CaptureLogs.bat, a DaVinci-Resolve-logs-YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.zip file will be created on your desktop. Please send that file to davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com.

Hi Michael, Thanks for your report, we do see some error message decoding the clip after 21:14.

Just wonder are you able to play the .cine file in any other cine viewer? Is it possible to send us one clip for further investigation?

The Phantom Camera Control program and Framecycler can both see the file fine. All of the Phantoms we have are out at the moment and I’m trying to find a file I can send, but how would you like me to send it? I can try to upload a file or just send you a drive.

Hi Michael, can you upload the clip to dropbox and send us the link through email?
