Exporting Full quality / resolution stills?
Posted by Andrew Smith on December 13, 2011 at 1:23 pmQuick question, I am used to using Redcine to export full quality / full resolution stills for r3d shots – can I do this same thing within Resolve as well and if so what if any info or advice would you include?

December 13, 2011 at 1:39 pmTimeline should be in the same resolution. Then find the frame in the timeline, save still, right click and export to DPX, TIFF, JPEG, PNG or whatever format available.

December 13, 2011 at 1:42 pmahh ok so in the case of this 4.5k resolve job i would switch red decoder to full quality and also switch project resolution temporarily from 1290×1080 t0 4480×1920 export as you explain and then switch back to grading settings?
thank you very much sir!!

December 13, 2011 at 1:52 pmThat’s correct! 🙂
To make it all a bit smoother without all the clicking and selections in menus etc. you could make two configs.– One for grading
– One for saving stills in full sizeSo when you wish to switch between these two, select the config template and hit LOAD, and you’re ready to do whatever you intend in no time.
Good luck! 🙂

December 13, 2011 at 1:54 pmthx Ola!
so but that config would only be for this resolution not ANY project of course right? Like i couldn’t make a config that is just auto setting resolution and quality to full?
thanks again for the fast response! -

December 13, 2011 at 3:45 pmYou’re correct. The config will save the timeline resolution, and will not automatically update for each project.
But once you have everything set, it’s quick to make new presets for other resolutions.
