I have added a clip into the media pool as an offline clip. I make sure that it is referenced in the Timeline Management window as the offline clip. Problem is that it won’t display in the offline window on the conform page. What am I doing wrong?

The offline is a QT. I tried Pro Res and h264 versions. Is there a file size limit? It is 3GB.

    Probably a timecode issue.
Go to your online Conform, navigate to the first cut.
    Remember that timecode.
Now go back to Browse ,select the offline and play to the exact same frame you just had in the Conform. right click the offline and choose change TC. Set the exact Time code and apply it.
Voila, synced offline , wherever its TC was.

    Thanks!!!!
That did it. So simple – I should have figured that out, but I appreciate it, Sascha.

Here is another question – sort of related.???

The primary reason I am adding an offline reference is for repos of shots. Is there a way to just import those shots instead of the whole offline?

My guess would be to use your offset tip on each shot. Find the starting TC for each one and then it will line up where ever it occurs in the time line? THe only downside is that I have to keep changing the reference in the the conform page.

    Thoughts?

You can just split your offline with the scene detection or manually and add all the to a second layer and switch between those.
But I agree, I would like to see a manual, timeline or offset value driven interactive offline offset.
Same as you can do with the audio.
And of course it needs to PLAY with the online.
