  • Does “Play Still” or F5 on Wave panel works?

I was reading in the manual that “Play Still” in the Resolve panel is the same as “Toggle Wipe on/off”. F5 on the Wave is “Play Still”as well, but nothing happens when I have a still selected, if I go to the menu or using the keyboard shortcut, I can turn the still on/off, but on the Wave is unresponsive.

Try turning the jog/shuttle to wipe the still image in after hitting F5 on the wave.

Something happened in version 8 that looks like the Wipe Type-A is broken. In version 7 this was an A/B wipe. I hope they fix this in 8.1.

The work around is to change the Type of Wipe to a Horizontal or Vertical Wipe you can do this using the shortcut Shft W or the View Menu “Wipe Type”. Once in one of these Types you can, as mentioned by Emilio drag the wipe to cover the frame you can also do this with the mouse. The shortcut CMD W, and I would guess F5 on the wave (I’m not using a Wave) will toggle the Still frame on and off.
