Red Conforming
I’m conforming a RED short, some of the RED material didn’t match up.. oddly it grabbed entirely different clips. (A020 instead of B005 for example)
Also, all of the DSLR footage is also linking to entirely different clips.However, what making manually cutting the R3Ds into the timeline is that whenever I match the source to the offline, and set the in and out points, no matter what, when I drag the source clip into the timeline, it ignores my in and out points. So I have to match it in the timeline… Is there a fix for this or am I doing something wrong?

What is the timeline like ?
What i mean is how it is done in fcp (nle) ? Some editors make prorez with different names
and it may confuse resolve as xml des not point to original material enymore.
Reel names in file name works perfect for me.Try to open your xml in red cine and see if it works there ?
With DSLR mostly you get this if you use original files without proper timecode when you edit.
Then xml gets some other timecode and those will not match again in resolve.—

I’ve had a similar issue with R3D and DSLR material and it was solved by altering the timeline conform options so that the source clip file pathname was used to get the reel number.

For R3D, you can generally use the “tape name embedded in header” option. For Canon, the path name method should work, as you mentioned.

Great, I’ll give that a shot.
I noticed that some of the clips were on different parts of the timeline… so in some cases I just had to move them back into place.
I noticed this happened where there were speed changes. As I’ve just found that speed changes to not translate
