Long story, will try and be clear as possible…..

Exported a music video to AE from FCP X using clipexporter2. Good piece of software FYI.

The videos settings are 1920×824 BUT in order to track properly, i brought in the original 4k files to AE. In other words all 190 clips are pre comps at 1920×824 but all the footage in the comps are the original 4k resolution scaled to 42.9 percent (to fit the 1920×824 resolution)

Roughly 190 clips with varying degrees of work. Some of the performance footage has large video screens in the BG with Xs on it for tracking purposes. (To replace with content later)

Since its a stage with moving lights etc, I decided first order of business was to track the Xs, blur them out using shape exports from Mocha and roto any of the band members in front of the screens. Was also creating a track and pasting onto AE as I went to save time.

I just realized after a quick test that all the tracks are off because I’m assuming Mocha is seeing the footage at 4k and my comp is 1920×824. The 1st part went swimmingly. I rotoed the Xs and blurred, then rotoed the band members in front of the screen. Im just confused now why the roto worked and to the tracking??

    Thanks

I guess my question is why are my After Effects transform data off and the roto and shape data is correct?

You may need to provide more information, but in general mocha should not have an issue to roto and track on proxy (lower res) footage and auto scale the output track or roto data.

I would try to relink to the higher 4k res footage in mocha (under clip tab), make sure the track lines up, then export to AE.
