It asks for a serial number for Resolve Lite, which is absurd. Has anybody at BM bothered to check their own download site?

Hi Rohit, has the tracker used in conjunction with dynamics been fixed in this release?

Downloaded and installed resolve lite, but as soon as I try to make a new project the program crashes.

Hey Rohit spent the day running Resolve demos at at SMPTE in Sydney today on 8.0.1.
Loads of interest and really really stable well done……….

Most people passing by had some experience of a grading session so colour wise they were savvy, however, the noise reducer and the stabiliser blew everyone away. A few apple colour users loving the colour wheels and thinking of switching now. Comments like ” can’t believe a grading system can do this so well” came up a few times.

AAF export is essential for me I think in the next version or two or three, Post Op Group is Avid heavy and if I make edit changes would be great to export that for the online guys.

Got this today and it doesn’t seem to work on my 15″ Macbook Pro screen (the very important navigation bar isn’t even visible at the bottom). Any workarounds other than buying a larger monitor?

Try the solution at this link:

Note that Jake reports on another forum that this no longer works on Lion. If you are not using Lion, this should work for you.

Been trying to download Lite for a while now. Keep getting a “Site Error” after I fill out the registration form. Guess I’ll wait til later and try again. Probably some server/bandwidth issues in relation to the rollout today.

day 2 of davinci lite……first i have to admit that i finally like this….sort of! having the lite version to play with is great as i can figure out how to run the thing before i actually pull out the credit card. only 2 little snags that i have found……first i would like to know if there is a keyboard command for toggling on and off the grade like in color….i always liked the way i could quickly see a “before and after” grade. i mapped a button on my wacom to do this in color and is such a quick and handy way to see what the original shot looked like before the grade. the second thing i miss is the ability to drag a grade from one shot and apply it to another similar shot. i’m sure there is a way but i just havent discovered it yet. the new “3 way control” makes it a lot more color like and i found that within minutes i could actually be grading….the project loading could be a little more friendly…..i really miss the send to command where color would just open the project and away you go directly from fcp. takes a bit more time to export the xml and direct the programme to where the media is but i think its just one of those things i will have to get used to. the curves a re now very color like as well and was a welcome surprise to me..now i just gotta get my head around this silly node structure…the one other thing i use alot in color is having individual project folders always available. often when i’m working on a series i will create a folder for grades that i can always access from any other project. for instance i have saved a lot of settings in episode 1 that i find i need in episode 2 (opening sequence lets say) in color i could open a new project for the 2nd show and still be able to open the grades folder from episode 1 in order to quickly drag and drop the grades to the new project. i also like being able to quickly go to list view and sort the shots in source order and just apply one setting to a bunch of similar shots. can davinci switch the time line to source mode rather than shot order? it would make it very quick and easy to copy grades to a group of shots with out having to actually go through everything and make groups…..
one more crappy thing for me….i now have to buy a new monitor because my samsung doesnt go up to 1920 and davinci doesnt like to run on lower resolutions…color doesnt either but i did manage to coax it into working in 1600 x 900…damn!

You can use the up and down arrow key on your keyboard to toggle before/after grade.

I think the most important thing is not to make Resolve run like Color. It is not Color and you’ll just make yourself frustrated if you try to use it the way it is not designed to be. There are now quite a number of video tutorials on Resolve and in particular Alexis Van Hurkman’s website where he shares alot of good info on the node structure in Resolve. Check it out : https://vanhurkman.com/wordpress/?cat=10
