Has anyone used TIFF image sequences with alpha channels in a multi-layer timeline? The codec support document says TIFF is a supported format, but does not specify if uncompressed, LZW or Packbits RLE are all supported.

Also the codec list does not indicate if ant QuickTime codecs with alpha channels are supported. I tried to use a QT in Animation w/alpha and the file would not import as it appears to be an unsupported codec at this time.

    thanks!

    Hello Jonathon Lee
I work with Tiff Sequences all the time and I am able to open:
    Tiff Sequence
RGB + Alpha – RGB- and Alpha
Million/ Trillion colors and floating points
    Straight (Un-matted) and premultiplied (matted)
With and without LZW Compression and IB PC Byte Order.

The only thing is, you will have to shift click to highlight from the first frame to the last frame and add to the pool:(
Resolve V8 browser doesn’t have enable files/format option, doesn’t have sequence option and doesn’t have force alphabetical order:( So because of the Tiff numbering Resolve V8 will detect every shots separately for the timeline, like it or not 🙁
I was not able to open TGA though.

Thanks! I got the import working. But, I cannot get the embedded Alpha channel to work. I’ve had to render out separate alpha channel sequence and link it back in Resolve. Do you know of a way to use the Alpha that is already in the file?

    thanks!
