What sort of price range are you looking at, what color spaces and resolution?
If it’s for the same work that you’d be doing on the Plasma, the JVC DLA-RS60 “Reference Series” is one that I looked at a quite a bit. I saw it in person at NAB in 3D and it looked very good. JVC claims is covers not only Rec. 709 but also some usable percentage of DCI and adobe RGB, is 1080p (supposedly the D-ILA chip can look a little softer than 3x DLP chips), is low noise, low heat, user-replaceable lamps. Has 1.4a HDMI connections for 3D or 30-bit color…
The thing that jumps out at me is that they seem to be pursuing a more demanding market than if this were just a home theatre projector… last month’s SpectraCal newsletter says SpectraCal is working with JVC to include a tool set specific to the RS60 inside the CALMAN software, which I would assume means better results while calibrating…
