I often have clips to grade on my timeline in Resolve which come from the same main source clip. Resolve by default grades all of those that are linked in this way and I understand by changing my clips to “Batch Unlink” then I can happily grade away on each clip.

The problem is when I come to render back to Avid. If I select the master timeline and render normally then not all of the clips are sent back (I suppose because they are overwriting one another). If I render to individual directories that doesn’t work as all of the files have to be put together for Avid to see them, which means more overwriting.

Is there a way to do this or should I wait until June?

    Thanks

Hmmm. I read that section of the manual but that doesn’t really help as I understand it. the timecodes are not the issue but the actual source clips. I have to say, coming from “Color” I didn’t envisage roundtripping to be so complicated. I’m wondering if there is a better workflow using EDLs instead of AAFs.
