    Hi all!

My company just bought Resolve and we just started testing and learning how to work on it,
and I must say I am pretty impressed. But I have few questions so lets start.

    1. We found on eBay older control surface for DaVinci, does that work with Resolve 7.1?
    2. We currently use only DigiBeta and Canon 5D, editing in Final Cut and color grading in
Color and the whole process is really simple and works great. With DigiBeta we capture long
10min clips and then edit in FCP. With Canon 5D we convert and merge lots of clips in one file
with MPEG Streamclip and work with that. How can we reuse that workflow with Resolve?
    3. I imagine it is only matter of giving reel numbers to clips but can I do something if there is
no reel numbers but only clip names and timecode?

    Thanks,
    Tomislav

    1. No older DaVinci control surfaces do not work with Resolve for Mac OSX, some older network panels will work with the Linux version.

    2. With 5D material it is wise to give it timecode and convert it to a format like DPX or Pro-Res444 to grade. You can assemble the finish edit by EDL and load the material into Resolve.

Look at this app for 5D to Resolve:

Hi Rob, thanks for your answer, tried that program and its great, especially since there is
no gamma change like with MPEG Streamclip and others, little bit slow but…

I found this little program today too https://www.videotoolshed.com/product/42/qtchange/2,
it could be really helpful for giving reel numbers and timecode, it could even fix media menage
problem I am having in FCP with my Canon projects.

Man I really hope they give us network support fro control surface, would love to use
my iPad with vWave, that alone would be enough for my needs 🙂

I will some more test these days, I really hope I integrate Resolve in my workflow
easily, will just need to be more careful…

    Thanks,
