    Hi guys,

I am still somewhat puzzled by the whole EDL thing.
Not only do most of the EDLs I write out with FCP not work, even the ones I create inside Resolve seem to have some sort of black magic attached.
But maybe, I am just doing it wrong.
So, here the steps again :

    1. Load one movie clip into scene detection and cut it up.
    2. Export EDL from scene into file , see below a screen dump

    3. Split the file, load into Conform = no problemo.
But, if I try to restart the process and use the edl to split or even just to preconform, I end up with only one clip in the media pool, or a non working timeline , see below

The clips load fine into the Master session it seems.
    Two questions :
    1. What am I doing wrong ?
    2. Can I manually replace the footage in the red x clips without deleting them, shifting them or any other editing tools ?
So far I was always screwing up the timeline due to the nature of ripple.

    A slice of color…

    Sascha,,

Its a combination of setting you chose on the resolve. Refresh and re import into the media pool each time you try a new setting..
The program looks at the metadata as you add to the media pool. If the settings are wrong it wont look at the proper code / file name.
