  EX3 tp DaVinci workflow.

  I’m about to receive a film shot on EX3 and edited in AVID.

  I’m haven’t dealt with XDCAM material for years, is there anything that I should look out for ? Is XDCAM even suppported on MAC ? If so, should I ask for an AAF or an EDL of the timeline ? Are AAF’s more stable with AVID media ?

  Config : Mac Pro 3,1, 8×2,8 Ghz, 12 Go Ram, Quadro FX4800, Decklink HD Extreme 3D , 8x1TB mini-SAS RAID5, DaVinci Resolve 7.02

  Hello Valeria,
  IF this is a finished edited piece, sounds like it since you have an EDL, I would ask for a CMX 3600 EDL, Non-Drop Time Code only for now, and a Quick Time of the finished show. Resolve imports both and cuts up the Quick Time perfectly. This way you do not have to worry about any plug ins, for effects, that were used in the edit, because everything is baked into the QT. Hope this helps.
