I’ve been searching but can’t find an answer on the subject:

Will the Mac resolve allow mastering straight to a quicktime file? There are situations where it’s easiest to work with a high quality Quicktime file, (prores 422 or 4444, etc). Would we be able to render out with audio to one of those formats?

On the Mac Resolve you can render out to Quicktime to ProRes codecs and there are 422, 444 codecs in the list that I have seen. Not sure about rendering out with the audio though but my guess is not…will find out for you.

Great question. The current (davinci) linux version does make one type of quick time, no audio, and an uncompressed monster file.
I have a call into black magic and except a response and a working demo very soon. Stay tuned its about to get very interesting.. 🙂
