  • Will Resolve Interface With A Telecine

Almost forgot Question 3. For those of us still peddling in the black arts of film acquired projects, will any of flavors of Resolve be able to control transport of a telecine a la Baselight?

I think I know the answer but just had to ask to make sure…

    Thanks and congrats BM/DaVinci…

If its “full-featured”, no reason to doubt that it could. Its in the manual.
In truth, my Tangent-200 panels could be used to control a Spirit, using the telecine’s internal corrector.

It would be like the old original Leonardo, telecine-only controller.

There is no telecine support in the current Resolve product.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the Euphonix MC Color panel works with the new Mac Resolve?

    THANKS!

I can confirm that the Euphonix MC Color panel was NOT working on the Mac Resolve at NAB time.

What I cannot confirm is what panels may or may not be supported when the Mac Resolve software ships. The Resolve product manager, Peter Chamberlain, has stated in this forum that we plan to add support for more panels as rapidly as we can.

Looking at the MC Color panel specs just now, I will also comment that initially, only USB control surfaces will be supported. It looks like the MC Color panel has an Ethernet interface. Thus, I would speculate that you won’t see this supported upon the initial Mac Resolve software release.

The DaVinci presentation video on their product page says they support Avid control surfaces… I’m guessing they are referring to an MC Color, since Avid bought Euphonix.

Version 8 of the Mac Resolve software will support the Avid Artist Color control panel (formerly known as the Euphonix MC Color).
