    Hey All,

Recently shot commercial on BlackMagic Production Camera in 4K raw. Beautiful results.

Editing CINEMA DNG natively in Adobe Premiere. No problems. Basic color correction using only raw controls. Will do real color correction on Premiere timeline with Colorista or Speedgrade.

But for the effects shots, I’m importing my Cinema DNG raw image sequences into AE and doing my thing. (Screen replacements, some minor compositing.)

No problems… except that it LOOKS different on the screen! I’m working with the same exact CINEMA DNG raw files in 32 bit float, but AE is putting some kind of gamma curve on there. I’m planning on rendering to ProRes 4444 trillions and then edit the clips back on the Premiere timeline. When I do that, I know I’ll be leaving RAW world, but gamma on those shots is totally different. I’d much rather keep it the same as the nice flat stuff that’s on my Premiere timeline, and then do my coloring.

How do I do that? What is AE doing?

    THANKS!

    Tom
