I have no idea what you mean… Could you be more specific instead of postink dead links (or links to dead links)? reflections can easily be done by using negative scale values on one axis and adjusting anchor points accordingly.

    Hi,

If you click on the above link – it will take you to an archived post. The first link you click on will display an image – I would like to produce a floor and back wall similar to the ‘gradient’ of white, then down the track I would like to add reflections.

When I try to create a floor with lights, it’s always too dark and too flat, this image looks like it has some real ‘deapth’.

    Many thanks

I still fail to see your problem… You can create that gradient look just as well in 2D or if really need be apply a gradient to a tilted 3D layer. In order to avoid to dark colors you need to adjust the layers diffuse and metal shading values and add some directional lights.

My problem is, I would like to create what you see attached image in the linked post. As in the soft white floor and wall with a gradient across it. I don’t know what else to say. So I can start to build photos flying around the 3d space. Thank you very much for your help.

it looks to clean & nice to be done in AE, but then again i could be wrong.

i would first make a gradient in illustrator, simply because they look SOOOOO much better than the ones in AE. Import the layer into AE and then duplicate it. Make both of the layers 3d, and then set them up for one to be your wall and the other your floor. heres the catch. the gradients need to go from a light to dark. not necessarily white to black, but I would use white & a color of your choice. Make the 3d layers so the white parts are touching. then add some AE lights, and start messing with the material properties of the wall/floor layers and all that stuff.

this is not a perfect explenation by any means, but if you’ve enough experience in AE, you’ll be able to figure it out. if not, just repost with some of the problems you’ve encountered and i’ll try to explain in better terms.

the floor seems to be a fractal noise scaled up pretty much with the contrast/brightness set high, then blured.

the reflexion is like Mylenium told you… it’s a duplicate of the square layer with the y scale set to -100%. You could try some different blend modes for this reflexion layer, like Screen. For the gradient opacity, you could either add a gradient effect set to alpha, or use a high feather mask.

    Hi!

Any chance you could help me out and send me an example to hg_vb@hotmail.com

I can do the reflection but creating a soft white room like in the example I just can’t pull off… alot of trouble with the lights!

Thanks you very much in advance.
