I’m attempting a video where I need to take 8bit/16bit retro game characters and morph them into other 8bit/16bit characters. I want it so you can see the actual pixels move from one character in one area to another in a different area. Just wondering the best way to go about this. Not sure if I should just use the morph effect because it will lose the 8bit/16bit look mid morph, or would this be something done with particles?

Maybe combine the morph effect with the mosaic effect?

Maybe decomposing the figure into pieces?
