  • How to achieve the following effect?

    Hi all

I’d like to ask if I may, if anyone knows how Andrew Kramer achieved the effect in his twitch promo video, the distortion.

The effect I am looking to immitate is what appears in the very first 3 seconds of the promo vid at https://www.videocopilot.net/twitch/

I’ve tried using the plugin to get this effect, but i can’t get it looking anything as spectacular as in the promo video.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thankyou

    Steve

I don’t know what the preset does exactly…

But if I were doing that in AE only then it looks like the opening slate is separated into at least 5 or 6 different layers. Three of them are probably Red, Green, and Blue components of the image, the others may be luminance components with levels or curves applied to create some blow out. All of them have mattes that flash in and out, probably based on stretched blocky fractal noise. Those same mattes may be used for displacements. There is also some strong horizontal blurring and wiggle()’d motion.

Steve check out the Video Noise tutorial that came with the download. It’s in the tutorial folder in the Twitch content. He uses a very similar Twitch look as the one in the promo.
