  PMS file?

  A client is asking for a PMS file and a flattened eps file. I think I can handle the eps file but has anyone ever heard of PMS? I read somewhere that it’s not actually a file extension, it’s just what you do to it. I.e.- switch it to Pantone and use one spot coloring yet still in the cmyk color space. To make this even more confusing, I only have a png file for starters. The original .ai file is nowhere to be found. Any assistance would be amazing. Thank you.
