  Swatch Panel

  Every time I look at an illustrator video on youtube about the swatch panel it always looks like this:

  

  But my swatch panel, never, never, never looks like the above. How it looks varies. It is never the same. For example here is how my swatch looks when I click the swatch panel.

  

  This is probably something very basic but yet I never found a tutor on it. I also asked this same question on another forum and their answer went right over my head. They didn’t reply when I asked questions so I may of been in the wrong place.

  Why doesn’t my swatch panel always look like the standard swatch panel? (image one above).

  Is there a way to make your swatch panel always display like the one displayed in image one above?

  I’m using AI CS6 on Windows. I’ll admit I’m a novice so hopefully someone can explain so a novice understands what’s going on.

  I guess for whatever reason I was not using the keywords for my search. I found a video explaining it in terms I understood so I guess we can close this thread…
