  ‘Hidden Characters’ Previewing as numbers instead of usual symbols

  I’m unable to see the standard paragraph/space/return symbols. I swear it must be a shortcut I’m unfamiliar with but its been impossible to google so I’m coming here for help. Either that or a system font issue?

  MBP 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
  OSX 10.11.6

  It does seem like some type of font conflict. Have you restarted your system since the issue started?

  I’ve tried about everything. Restarting to resetting preferences. No luck unfortunately.
