    Hi guys,

I just want to start sayin I’m absolutely a newbie with AI.
I need the text “RHYME” to be curved in a particular way, basically I want the bottom of the text to have the same alignment as the RED line i quickly drawn around. Warp is doing Arches etc etc (which is what is shown in the current picture) but it doesnt seems to have any similar presets. Type on Path Tool as well it will have the whole text bent.
Anyone could give me a quick tip how to achieve this?
    Much appreciated!

There is another distortion option more suitable for this, the Envelope distort. (Object>Envelope distort>Make with top object).

The trick is drawing the envelope in such a fashion that is most workable for this effect.

You want to use four corners, with bezier handles extending to each direction, 1/3 of the length of the given side. Then it will shape as you want. Both anchor points and the length of the handles are taken into account in the warp.

Or you can use “Make with mesh” and set the rows and columns to one. You’ll end up drawing the same envelope shape, but the effect will remain editable.
