  Adding a gradient to a brush stroke?

  Hey there! I’m raking my brains here trying to figure out why I can’t add a gradient to a brush stroke. For some reason it won’t do it. The gradient doesn’t appear on my brush stroke.. Instead if I click on fill and do the gradient it will appear on a separate stroke under my brush stroke…Please help.
