    Hello all.

I’m making a package label, and want a background pattern. The easiest way to describe it is to imagine dandelion seeds blowing in the wind. I want to draw one seed and hope illustrator can make a random scatter with adjustable size and orientation of the object and density of its scattering.

Can anyone tell me if this feature exists, and what it’s called so I can research further?

    TIA!

Try dragging your object into the Brushes pallette, and create a Scatter Brush.
The scatter brush has all of controls you describe.
Than you just draw a path and apply the your custom bush.
You can go back into the brush editor of you need to make additional changes.
