  Importing shape layers from Photoshop to Illustrator without rasterizing

  I have a bunch of illustrations all made up Photoshop shape layers and was wondering if there would be a quick way of importing the files into Illustrator by retaining the shape layers without rasterizing them? I have a tonne of shapes so just clicking them all individually and selecting their paths to copy just isn’t an option…

  there is an option in PS,
  file/Export/Paths to Illustrator.

  I’m not sure how you are using these paths. if they are masks or if you are using them as Vector shapes only… i have never needed to do a work flow like this but it might get you a little closer to your goal.

  Thanks for that. I found I can just open the Photoshop files within Illustrator and certain shape layers will be retained – as long as there are no clipping masks and/or layer styles applied to them. This is unfortunate as many of the shape layers in the Photoshop document have them…

  Hello

  is there a way to MOVE FROM ILLUSTRATOR TO PHOTOSHOP WITHOUT RASTERIZING ???

  I found that

  But it includes a Firework derivation…

  Or
  They need to be compound shapes in order to be exported as shape layers into a PSD.

  You could also use the ArtBlue plugin to export your shapes into a Photoshop shape library.
