  • Get resulting shape from effect distorted object?

Say I have an object and I’ve applied an Effect -> Distort and Transform -> Free Distort.

Is there a way to get the resulting distorted version of the shape out of there and into its own shape?

How to explain. I can make a shape and then apply a distortion effect that gets me 90% of the way to the shape I want. But to do that last 10%, I want to be able to work directly with a path that’s shaped like what results from the distort effect.

    Does this make sense?
