  • How to join all the paths together.

    Hi Guys,

So I’ve made my logo and now I really want to join all the paths together so I can add a nice gradient to it. Sounds simple… but I have consumed more time than I care to admit trying to accomplish this.

I just can’t work out how to glue, or ‘join’, all my paths together to make one cohesive object. Am relatively new to Illustrator and have been battling with the join command. Tried doing live paint but that seemed to only make more paths.

Anyway, I know a picture paints a thousand, so if anyone has the chance to look at my .ai file and offer a best practice technique that would be most appreciated. Am using CS5 BTW.

Have reviewed the previous posts on this topic but I’m still in ‘path hell’.

    Cheers,

    Dan

I’m in CS4, so I may not be opening the file properly…
But it looks like you just need to remove any clipping masks and ungroup everything. Then select all of the components you want to join and click Window / Pathfinder / Unite.
