    Hi,

I have produced a logo that incorporates a gradient shine. I created the gradient using the pen tool that creates a curved shine effect and used a clipping mask crop the design and to tidy everything up. The gradient is white with some opacity set with it. This looks fine when the logo is shown on a white background but when behind a coloured background the gradient is showning through and looks ugly.
I basically want the gradient shine to just to effect the logo itself and not the negative/white space between it.
Hope this makes sense Can anyone please help?
    P.S
I tried copying a duplicate version of the logo and pasting it on top of my logo to use as the clipping mask which I’m sure i’ve done before but I get a message saying image too complex and I just loose the whole logo
    Would appreciate some help

    Thanks

    Scott

I’m sure you did something wrong when you performed the masking. That’s how it’s done, using a clipping mask on the hilite. See the attached CS4 example.
