  CS4 type on a path

  Anyone else out there having type on a path shift on CS4 files.

  Even after we update the text, the message still comes back “The type on a path was created with a previous version of illustrator. Click to update the character positioning using the new Type path engine.

  We have to outline an extra version of our files prior to going out for release so it does not shift on the printer.

  So what exactly is the problem? Fonts should be outlined anyway so you don’t have to send your fonts to the printer.

  The type shifts when you outline the text. We have to fix the positioning prior to outlining the fonts.

  Ok, well, I’ve not converted an older AI file to CS4 with a type on a path. Maybe there IS something wrong at the conversion side. Could be a bug.
