  creating a radial segment effect, please help

  Hi guys,

  this is my first post so my apologies if its something thats been answered and i just havent found it yet…and hello by the way.
  I have a fairly basic knowledge of illustrator and im wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to go about creating an image like:

  basically its just the segmented shape…is it attached to a path or what is the quickest and easiest way to create this kind of radial perspective, segment effect?

  Of course, there are a couple of ways to achieve this.
  You could create a pattern brush of the outer/repeated element, apply it to a curved path, than Effect/3D Rotate.
  You could draw the inner element after the 3D rotation is complete.
