I have a Drobo RAID connected to my Mac via USB. Photoshop CS3 sees this fine as a scratch disk option, and I’m using it fine in there. However, Illustrator CS3 won’t see it, even though it sees another USB external drive. Anyone have any experience with this, and perhaps a workaround? Thanks!

Got official word from Adobe tech support, and it is: “::shrug::”.

Actually, they said any external storage device is not a supported or recommended selection for your scratch drive, and you should choose an internal drive. However, they did not explain why it was possible in one app and not another, consider both apps show and allow selection of all other external drives just fine.
