    hello there!

I’ve got a simple (and maybe stupid) question. i’m trying to put text around a circle in illustrator like you can see over here for instance: https://a.parsons.edu/~lima/visualcomplexity/images/378_big02.jpg

I know i could just put every line in a slightly other angle, but since it’s not so easy to add or erase text that way, that is not an option right now… i hoped i could do that with the vertical type on path-tool, but that doesn’t seem to work for entire words…

anyone who can help me please?

    hi,
you could use the POLAR GRID TOOL in Illustrator ( I used CS2).
This tool is hidden in the same location where the LINE TOOL is in the Illustrator toolbox.
Click and hold on the LINE tool, it’ll pop out…

By double clicking the POLAR GRID TOOL you can adjust the size and how many text lines you need by changing the number of CONCENTRIC DIVIDERS .

That will give you a nice grid. Then just select the TYPE ON A PATH TOOL and position it on each CONCENTRIC DIVIDER and type….one line at a time.

    hope that helps.
